| Victor Chandler (vcbet)
The Overall—I'm not sure if there's another sportsbook out there that offers the history of Victor Chandler group, and their involvement in book-keeping certainly goes well beyond the online betting revolution especially in the UK. My great uncle on my father's side was a Briton, and used what would become Victor Chandler as his book-keeping firm as a young man, before working with them in his retirement; the primary game was horse racing and the greyhounds, but VC Group was around back when a "sportsbook" would have meant a yellow legal pad in a cigar smoke filled room.
That said, there is a certain element of class and a feeling of high stakes gaming with vcbet. It's tough to put a handle on exactly why it feels this way, but the site layout and colour scheme in addition to the high stakes betting is probably the primary reason for the impression users get when they first sign into vcbet. The huge selection of sports available for betting means that clients interested in using vcbet will be well catered to as far as options go for sports (Futsal anyone?) and options for betting them. VCBet is probably best suited for high rollers or professional gamblers. While it's not an unfriendly site, there is certainly more there for the experienced gambler than for a novice.
The Pros
Huge Payout and Deposit Limits—The deposit limits are the first giveaway when trying to decide who would be interested in vcbet…there are none when using Neteller, Credit Cards, Western Union or Moneybookers. This no-limit style deposit comes in very handy with Victor Chandler, as they do not exactly lend themselves to "unprofitable" accounts- more on this later. With Payouts, there is a £1,000,000 limit on telegraphic transfer so you can be assured there are some serious gamers playing here. While I'm not big on the idea that deposits are unlimited while payouts are capped, I don't think needing to cash out more than £1,000,000 per transaction comes up very often.
VCBet also offers a well-above-industry-average for methods that can be used to make deposits, and while it would seem that this is intended to make the site accessible to everyone I still beg to differ based on my own interpretation of the site in addition to a few key pieces of information I'll get to.
Betting Lines, Odds and Trends—This bears mention simply because of the depth of options offered at vcbet. Sports I've not even heard of are available for betting, and the live feed feature for current games is very well done as well. Odds are fair and prices on horse racing are certainly tempting, an idea that probably heads back to VCBet's roots in the racing industry. For those who are willing to put up some money, VCBet certainly doesn't lack in ways you can spend it.
The Cons
Closing Accounts—The biggest complaint about VCBet is their policy of closing inactive/unprofitable accounts without warning. There have been more than a few cases of clients receiving emails informing them that their account has been closed and will be unavailable to them for any further business. While I respect the management groups right to monitor their site and perform regular maintenance on dormant accounts, there are testimonials that individuals who made modest bets (under $200 value) and won some money had their accounts closed. If these accusations are true, and given the evidence provided supporting the claims its tough to believe they are false, then this is the type of behaviour that helps to confirm the idea that VCBet and Victor Chandler group are an elitist sportsbook site. I will never be in a position to bet more than $50 on any given game, as gaming and betting are simply recreational hobbies for me; and if this site doesn't want my business due to those low wagers I will happily take my money elsewhere.
Scandal?—There are reports that an upper level executive with VCBet was arrested in Malaysia for an alleged violation of the countries gaming laws. The accusation is yet to be merited, but to me when it comes to gaming I like to take my chances on the games, not on the company taking my bets. Whether or not the arrest ends up being substantiated or not, there are definitely scandal free sportsbooks out there to consider before taking a gamble that perhaps the management have made some unscrupulous decisions.
Bonuses—The bonuses here are mainly directed towards the high stakes gamblers, as new clients are offered a £25 opening bet deposit to make their first wager. Beyond that, high stakes rewards at the casino are available, but the sportsbook gamers are mainly left to their own devices as far as wagering and receiving their payouts.
Customer Service—The site relies on an experienced clientele to say the elast. Options for help aren't readily available, and the FAQ section could use some work if VCBet's goal was to lure novice gamblers. As this doesn't seem to be the case, the help section and support system seems to be more for site/technical issues more so then helping to initiate new players.
Recommendation—If you're and experienced online gamers and you're looking for larger deposit and payout limits, that would be the single biggest reason to go with vcbet. For the new, novice or recreational gambler, you'll get more value for your money and more enjoyment out of the experience with one of the many other sportsbooks available out there. I think that vcbet is making an effort to run and maintain an "elite" gaming site for serious gamblers, and the little details like deposit limits, account closures, lack of help and overall atmosphere support their goal.
Victor Chandler, vcbet, is best reserved for serious/professional gamers only. Novice or recreational gamblers can certainly get their fix elsewhere at a more welcoming site.
