Pittsburgh Steelers -3 Over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Steelers are going into their third week without Ben Roethlisberger and they are 2-0. This week however they are without interim starter Dennis Dixon. Getting the start this weekend is Charlie Batch who has played
well before in Roethlisbergers absence.
On Offence this week the Steelers will look to run, run, and run some more going against a very weak Tampa defense. Batch will be playing as a game manager this week, I don't expect to see him throw many passes.
On defense it appears that the Steel Curtain is back, last week they limited stud runningback Chris Johnson to just 30 yards. Back from an injury riddled 2026 campaign is Head and Shoulders spokesman Troy Polamalu
and he is looking good so far. The defense is also getting some solid contributions from many other players, especially linebacker LaMarr Woodley. This is a defense that will probably hold Tampa Bay to under 14 points.
Tampa's only chance in this game is to have a huge day with the Offense, specifically quarterback Josh Freeman will have to have a big game. He does have some decent targets to throw to including Kellen Winslow jr. and
Mike Williams. Running the ball they don't have much, oft injured former first round pick Cadillac Williams leads the tailbacks and there isn't much in terms of depth there.
The Tampa Bay defense has some good players like, Gerald McCoy, Aquib Talib, and Ronde Barber but overall the talent level on the D is just not up to par.
I expect this one to be a blowout with the Steelers winning around 28-7 I really don't know why the line is so low but this seems like a good game to pick.
