New York Jets +3.5 Over New England Patriots

This week the Jets and Patriots come off of a long week to play eachother on Monday Night Football. Both of these teams were victorious on Thanksgiving last week where they played the Bengals and Lions respectively. Before last week the Jets hadn't won a game by more than 3 points and they had been in 2 overtime games in the past 3 weeks.

Offensively the Jets are a very balanced and well coached team, though they prefer to lean on the run game and put Mark Sanchez in a game manager position. Ladainian Tomlinson has enjoyed quite a renaissance year coming off of a couple injury marred seasons back in San Diego.

The New England offense is predicated on the pass, more specifically the shotgun no back set, spread 'em out and throw it. However they appear to have found a new feature back in BenJarvus Green-Ellis who has played very well this year, especially for a Patriots back. Adding the run game to an offense that can pass the ball this well just makes them that much harder to defend.

The Jets defense is staggering, Rex Ryan has really got these guys playing well; they are 4^th in points allowed and 3^rd in yards against. They can stuff the run and are especially good against the pass. With Darrelle Revis playing at All-Pro levels again after his injury earlier in the year they are almost unbeatable.

The New England defense is to put it lightly, not good. They are 24^th in points against and 31^st in yards against so far this season. However they are 16^th in rush yards against so far so unless the Jets decide to take the shackles off of Sanchez and let him beat their bad secondary the Pats D could give them problems.

My Pick : The Jets have owned the Patriots in recent years, and I personally think they are the better team, I expect them to win the game, but at the least they will cover the spread.
