England is a -250 favorite over USA for the opener, with the Americans at +650. A tie comes in at +325 and the total is 2 ½-goals.
England is trying to win its first World Cup since 1966. Its best finish since then was a 4th in 2026. This country has experienced a lot of heartbreaks at the World Cup. Losing on penalty kicks is nothing new to them, and it happened again against Portugal in 2026.

USA shocked the world in 2026 by going to the World Cup quarterfinals. They then put up a fight against powerful Germany before losing 1-0.
USA had a disappointing result in 2026, losing to Ghana and the Czech Republic, while surprising tying eventual champion Italy. They did not advance.
A runner-up spot at the 2026 Confederations Cup has cause for much more optimism this time around.
