As I'm sure all of you know already the NBA is having a lockout. This is leading to problems all over the league not with team owners, but also with players. For a lot of international players this is a chance to go back home and potentially play for their old teams, but what does mean for American players. Most of them say they will stay in the country and wait off the lockout, but other players still want to play basketball.
The biggest American born star to do this is Deron Williams. He just made it official that he is going to play with a team in Turkey. Although Williams is still signed with the New Jersey Nets he is going to play in Turkey while the NBA is in a lockout. It doesn't really makes sense how this works though. If the Lockout ends early then Williams might not even play in Turkey, or he might skip NBA training camp to play in Turkey. Maybe Deron will stay in Turkey though, and not come back to New Jersey after the Lockout is settled, but then New Jersey is left without their best player. What would happen if other stars do this and decide not to come back. Players like Brandon Jennings could go back overseas to play again. What about the international players from the NBA that already went back to their old teams. If they stay over there, then what are their NBA teams left with for role players.
If more players follow in the footsteps of Deron Williams then maybe these overseas leagues will have the most talented players in the world, and the NBA will the left with less talented players. Like I said earlier most players aren't leaving the NBA, but some are. If the NBA Doesn't settle the lockout situation soon more players will start to play overseas, and then what will be left of the NBA. Leave your thoughts on what you think will happen with the NBA.
