Pro Line Sports Betting Pros and Cons
4 Reasons Why Online Betting is Better Than ProLine Betting
Variety, Odds, Convenience/Timing, Bonus,
I'll start this off by saying, I'm not a big gambler. However like most sports obsessed people though I do like to put down the occasional bet. Now when i first started putting down little bets I would always go to the nearest convenience store and get a pro line pro props card for one of the primetime NFL games. Now though I have advanced to the wonderful world of online betting.
1. Variety
Variety is the very first thing most people will see when they make the switch from betting Pro-Line to betting online. Just in a quick scan of bodog It shows you probably around 20 times more options for betting than Pro-Line. For example, under the football heading on Bodog it gives you the option for NFL,NCAA, CFL, UFL, player props, team props, Futures, and more. That is just for the one sport, and doesn't include all the other sports out there to bet on, even some as obscure as Darts and Snooker. This is the beauty of Online betting, there really is something for everyone to bet on, even going as far as film/television props and Politics.
2. Odds
The 2nd reason Sports Betting Online is better than Pro-Line is Odds. Now you may be thinking to yourself, "Hey Pro-Line gives me pretty good odds, I can win $30 on a $5 prop wager." That's just the kind of flawed thinking Pro-Line relies on to make their money. In order to win that money off pro line you have to get at least 3 props correct on one ticket, no easy feat. Online betting you'll get similar odds but you can make your props picks seperately so if you hit 2 out of 3 you'll still be up on the day. Another great way to get big odds betting something Pro-Line doesn't offer is Futures bets. I recently had a win on a futures bet (San Francisco for the World series) where I had put down $5 just for fun to maybe make the season and playoffs a little more interesting. That bet paid out $155 to me (31/1 odds), When was the last time Pro-Line gave you those kind of odds?
3. Convenience
Let's say you like to make the occasional wager but don't have a convenience store nearby to you and it's almost gametime. If you're a Pro-Line bettor than you are (excuse my language) shit out of luck, but if you bet online you have plenty of time. Lets face it, the only thing convenient about Pro-Line is that most OLG retailers carry it, but that doesn't factor all the annoyances that come with that; Waiting in line 5 minutes before gametime to get a card in while an octogenarian takes 15 minutes to sort out all their scratch cards happens(maybe only to me though), having to fill out the semi complicated card happens, and certain bets and events getting shut down with no notice happens. Is that what you want from your sports betting provider? Also available through online betting sites is Live Betting where you can make wagers during games in progress. You can bet on what the next play will be, who will score next, the second half score, etc… You tell me which is more convenient, I'll give you a hint, It's not the one carried in "convenience" stores.
4. Bonuses
Finally we come to the last reason on my list, the bonuses. Have you ever received a bonus from Pro-Line? No, ok that's what I thought. While Pro-Line won't reward your loyalty in choosing them, there are many many many online betting sites that will reward you for signing up, and will give you loyalty bonuses. In the end isn't that what matters? Loyalty I mean, stop letting the corporate bully (Pro-Line) get your business, take your betting somewhere that cares about you.
