Fantasy Sports Weekly
Well it's that time of year, Baseball has just started and every team is brimming with hope at the possibilities of the new season. This also means fantasy baseball has just started. I did my drafts in mid march but some people have had late drafts so I'm going to give some vague late drafter advice.
Do not whatever you do put too much stock into the way a player starts, sure Vernon Wells has 3 home runs already but that doesn't skyrocket him up the board by 5 rounds. Take your time and follow your plan and draft like the season hasn't started. Lastly if some people in your league take the first bit of results too seriously you can reap the benefits by picking up players that have started in a slump.
Now for a bit of mailtime.
Dear BSR
How do you feel Jake Peavy will adjust to pitching in the AL? In the last couple drafts I have been in I have seen him fall lower than I expected and decided to take him. Will the better hitting in the AL cause him to falter more than I am expecting?
Justin P
Well I like Jake Peavy a lot, I even drafted him to one of my teams. I don't expect him to suffer too much coming over to the AL especially when he has the Royals and Indians in his division. I'd treat him as a low end #2 high #3 starter.
And that's it for fantasy this week, I'll be back next week with more Fantasy expertise next week so dont forget to send me a message if you have any fantasy sports inquiries.
